Digital Access Control Systems

Digital access control systems are at the lowest security level when it comes to access control. It is normally used in low level control of restricted areas. Entry is accomplished by entering a numeric code on a keypad to release a door.

 Plus factors

  • Basic system can be from 1 code on up to hundreds based on need.
  • Some systems have the ability to have printers to record transactions.
  • Reasonably inexpensive to install.
  • Simple to program.
  • Should only be used to control passage doors.
  • Normally all codes have 24 hour access.

Down side

  • Digital codes are not very secure, you can share a code that can be used at a later date.
