Telephone Access Control Systems
Telephone
access systems are normally used in apartment houses to allow the tenant to open
the lobby door for a visitor. They are most popular with retrofits of older
apartments and buildings that are switching to lock down after hours. The system
requires the landlord or manager to program the system with a new tenants
telephone number as they move in, and correlate it to their apartment number.
They work like this.
-
When a visitor arrives, they
punch in the apartment number off the directory of the individual they are
there to visit.
-
The unit then calls the
telephone number of the tenant and turns on a speaker phone.
-
Once the tenant verifies the
caller, they can open the lobby door by entering a code at their telephone.
